Characteristics:
Quick-drying primer and enamel based on alkyd resins in a suspension of pigments and fillers in organic solvents, with the addition of siccatives, pigments, and auxiliaries. It has excellent protective properties, containing an active anti-corrosion pigment. The quick-drying alkyd primer and enamel are available in a full range of colors, including those specified in the RAL color chart.
Product Properties:
The quick-drying alkyd primer and enamel feature a short drying time, excellent adhesion to the substrate, and good mechanical properties. It can be applied using various application techniques, including brush, roller, pneumatic or hydrodynamic spraying, and immersion. The quick-drying alkyd primer and enamel create well-adhering, durable, and flexible decorative-protective coatings with high durability. The product exhibits good resistance to atmospheric conditions. It is also compatible with the application of various lacquer coatings. The resulting coatings are smooth, with good elasticity, impact resistance, resistance to varying temperatures, and elevated temperatures.
Intended Use:
The quick-drying alkyd primer is designed for decorative and protective coating of steel, cast iron, equipment, and machinery operating in various working conditions. GRUNTOCHEM is used for protective and decorative painting of apparatus, machines, equipment, steel and iron structures, wooden elements, building joinery, cladding, and some plastics. It is particularly recommended for both exterior and interior painting of steel structures, external surfaces of tanks, construction and agricultural machinery, and other surfaces where excellent resistance properties, elasticity, and good adhesion are essential.
Application Method:
Before starting painting work, the primer should be thoroughly mixed and, if necessary, thinned with xylene solvent to achieve the required working viscosity suitable for the chosen application method. Application methods include brush, roller, pneumatic or hydrodynamic spraying. The primer should be applied to degreased surfaces free from dust and dirt. The surface designated for painting should be dried, cleaned from loosely adhering rust, old peeling paint, dust, and degreased using a solvent. The minimum temperature of the painted surface should not be lower than +5 ºC and should be 3 ºC higher than the dew point. Painting should be done at temperatures not exceeding 35 ºC. The maximum relative humidity during painting work should not exceed 85%. The recommended thickness of the created dry protective coating is 30÷35 µm. It is recommended to apply 1 to 2 coats.
CAUTION: Before commencing work with the product, please familiarize yourself with the product data sheet. This solvent-based product is flammable and requires strict compliance with occupational health and safety and fire safety regulations during use.
