Anti-Pyrogenic Agent for Combating the Risk of Endogenic Fires
Characteristics:
The INHIBIT EN-5 fire retardant preparation is available in the form of a loose powder. It delays the self-heating process of coal and reduces its tendency to spontaneous combustion. INHIBIT EN-5 is a mixture of strong antipyrogens with added modifiers and auxiliary agents. It is used to combat the threat of endogenous fires. The product is available in two variants: A and F.
Product properties:
The INHIBIT EN-5 fire retardant preparation, in variants A and F, is a mixture of strong antipyrogens in powder form, highly soluble in water. The product is non-flammable and does not contain substances classified as hazardous. It does not pose significant environmental threats. The material is hygroscopic, absorbing moisture from the surrounding air. INHIBIT EN-5 is an inhibitor of the coal oxidation process, effectively preventing the self-heating of coal and influencing the quality of the coal's self-ignition and subsequent combustion reactions. Through hydrolysis and oxidation reactions at low temperatures, the INHIBIT EN-5 preparation leads to the formation of carbon matter variants characterized by the disappearance of the tendency to chemisorption of oxygen, and thus variants without a tendency to self-heating. Further hydrolysis and oxidation reactions result in the formation of variants with a significantly higher energetic structure, leading to an increase in combustion reaction temperature and transformation of coal with an antipyrogenic effect. As a strong inhibitor and antipyrogen, due to its hygroscopic properties, INHIBIT EN-5 can be applied directly to coal matter in powder form or as an aqueous solution in fire prevention activities. The use of the INHIBIT EN-5 preparation significantly impacts the working conditions and safety in underground mining operations. INHIBIT EN-5 is classified as a class V antipyrogen (according to GIG classification).
Purpose:
The INHIBIT EN-5 fire retardant preparation is intended for use as a means to reduce coal's tendency to self-heating and spontaneous combustion. It is designed for preventive actions as an inhibitor of the coal oxidation process. This fire retardant preparation is used to combat the threat of endogenous fires and can be applied directly to coal matter in powder form, or as a sprayed or injected aqueous solution, or as an additive to backfill, smoke dust, and mineral materials placed in underground mining operations. The A variant of INHIBIT EN-5 has been developed for use in fire prevention in reclamation objects, waste heaps from coal mining, coal prone to spontaneous combustion in fuel storage, and underground mining operations. The F variant has been developed for fire prevention mainly in underground mining operations. Due to the elevated pH of aqueous solutions, the use of the F variant on the surface requires additional analysis of wastewater quality discharged into water or soil. INHIBIT EN-5 in variants A and F can be used in underground mining operations, in non-methane and methane zones, and in workings classified as levels "a," "b," or "c" for methane explosion hazard and "A" or "B" for coal dust explosion hazard.
Application method:
INHIBIT EN-5 is commercially available in powder form, packed in 25 kg net paper bags. The INHIBIT EN-5 fire retardant preparation, in variants A and F, can be used independently or as an additive to dry or hydraulic backfill, smoke dust, or mineral materials placed in underground mining operations. The preparation can be applied in dry powder form or as a 5% aqueous solution. Independent use in dry form involves manual or mechanical spreading of the preparation directly on coal matter. The amount of preparation used is determined as 2-3% of the mass of the neutralized coal matter, calculated to a maximum depth of 0.5 m. Thicker layers of coal matter (over 0.5 m) should be covered with approximately a 2 cm layer of INHIBIT EN-5. Aqueous solutions should be prepared maintaining weight proportions: 1 part preparation to 19 parts water. The prepared solution can be applied by spraying or injecting it to the target location using most equipment used in mining. The INHIBIT EN-5 fire retardant preparation is used as a 5% additive to dry or hydraulic backfill, smoke dust, or mineral materials placed in underground mining operations.
